Tarjuma is a messaging and calling app that translates between Urdu and Turkish.
This page describes exactly what it stores, what it does not, and which other
companies process your information in order to make translation work.
What we store
- Your account. Your name, email address and profile picture, as
given to us by Google when you sign in. We never see your Google password.
- Your messages. The text of chat messages and their translations,
so they can be delivered and shown in your conversation history.
- Your call history. Who called whom, when, how long it lasted, and
whether it was answered — so your call list is accurate.
- Notification tokens. An identifier for each of your devices, used
only to ring your phone and deliver message notifications.
What we do not store
- The audio of your calls. It is never recorded and never written to
our servers.
- Face-to-face translations. What is spoken and shown on screen in
face-to-face mode is never sent to our servers and never stored anywhere.
Who else processes your information
Translation is not something the app can do by itself, so parts of it are handled by
other companies. We share only what each one needs to do its job.
- Google — signing you in, and delivering notifications to
Android devices.
- Soniox — turning speech into text and translating it as you
talk. Audio is streamed directly from your device to Soniox and does not
pass through our servers.
- DeepInfra — translating the text of chat messages.
- Apple — delivering calls and notifications to iPhones.
We do not sell your information, we do not share it for advertising, and there is no
advertising in the app.
Permissions the app asks for
- Microphone — to carry your voice on a call and to translate
what is said.
- Camera — for video calls only.
- Notifications — so calls can ring and messages can arrive
when the app is closed.
Keeping and deleting your information
Your messages and call history are kept until you ask us to delete them. Write to
sharique15678@gmail.com from the email
address you signed in with and we will delete your account and everything associated
with it.
Children
Tarjuma is not intended for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their
information.
